4th Grade Celebrates Black History Month

4th Grade Celebrates Black History Month

For Black History Month, the fourth grade has been researching the origins and influence of Motown Music on our culture.  Each student had to research a Motown legend and their stories and create a slide-show presentation including videos from that era.  The culmination was a morning performance.  We featured different groups and stars from Motown including Stevie Wonder, Ike and Tina Turner, The Jackson 5, The Temptations, and Aretha Franklin.  We practiced the numbers during recess and study hall times in the hallway.
Mrs. Heffernan did the choreography and costumes;
Mrs. Watts put together the slide show for the backdrop;
Mrs. Hazlett helped with sewing and mending.
Thanks also to the rest of the fourth-grade team Mrs. Visco and Mrs. Spratley;
Mr. Funk managed the soundboard.
