Sunday Star Updates

Principal's Message for the Week of September 8th

Drop-off in the morning is between 7:30 - 8:00. Doors will close at 8:00 so staff can be in place for morning meeting at 8:05. Students arriving after 8:00 should be dropped off at door 1. Any student dropped off after 8:05 will be marked tardy.

Mrs. Tschantz is starting a costume club to support our theater and dance programs by creating costumes for their productions and performances. There is limited space available for students to participate and they would need to commit to the dates listed on the application. If your child is interested, please fill out the application by September 25 Costume Club Application.

Snack table returns on Monday! Students may purchase snacks at dismissal by door 12.

The Kenmore Historical Society is looking for input from our families on community needs as we prepare to move to the Kenmore neighborhood in the next few years. Please fill out this Family Feedback survey to provide your input.

Students in grades 6-8 will be participating in a variety of college and career academy field trips. Parents may fill out universal CCAA permission slips for students to attend all CCAA field trips for the year.

iReady testing will begin this week. Students will take diagnostic assessments in reading and math. These assessments are very important as they will show us the areas of strengths and improvement for each student. Please make sure your children have charged Chromebooks in school each day and encourage them to do their very best on the test so we know where to support them.

As we continue to learn dismissal routines, we ask that parents do not block entryways or other cars that are parked at door 12. You may park in the lower lot if the top lot is full. Please watch for students crossing the alley.

A message from the PTA: Thank you to all the students who submitted spirit wear designs.  Voting for your favorite design will open Monday morning and close Wednesday evening. The winning design will be featured in PTA's coming fall spirit wear sale.

Please join us for PTA's first meeting this Wednesday, 11th September, at 6 pm.  We will be meeting in the school dining room as well as virtually.

PTA is selling Thrive and Drive Raffle tickets, available here.  PTA memberships are also available at the same link.
