Principal's Message for the Week of September 29th
Interim pick-up will be on Thursday, October 3rd from 3:30 - 7:00. Our 4th-6th grade teachers are reaching out to families to pre-schedule 10-minute conferences. Our art staff as well as our 7th and 8th-grade teachers will host 10-minute conferences in an open format.
We have had some issues with students using their Chromebooks in inappropriate ways at school. Chromebooks are the property of APS and students should only be using them for educational purposes. Everything that students do on their computers can be accessed by the district at any time. Students using their Chromebooks inappropriately are subject to disciplinary action. Please discuss appropriate technology use with your child.
The Dance Boosters will be sponsoring a Dine-To-Donate at Swenson's (40 S. Hawkins Ave.) on Wednesday, October 9th from 5:00-8:00 PM. 15% of food and beverage sales will go to the Dance Boosters with THIS IMAGE presented to the curb server. See the link in the all call email.
Do you know a current 3rd or 5th-grade student? Miller South Open enrollment is now available for all students entering 4th and 6th grade next year. Please encourage friends and family to join our family by enrolling in Miller South. The UPDATED district deadline to apply for open enrollment is December 2, 2024. Auditions will take place after winter break. See our open enrollment website for more information.
Akron Children’s Immunization team will be at Miller South on Monday, October 7 for adolescent vaccines. If your child is missing vaccines, paperwork was sent out in the mail last week. If you would like your child to receive their vaccines on the 7th, please fill out the paperwork and return it to school.
Akron Early College High School will be here Tuesday morning to meet with our 8th-grade students to discuss their program. 8th parents are who are interested in the information are welcome to attend.
A message from the PTA: The book fair is this week! Students may visit the book fair during their recess time or after school. E-wallets may be set up using the provided link. The book fair will be open during interim pickup night. Please visit the library to shop for or with your student.
Kona Ice will be in the main hallway from 4pm to 6:30pm on Thursday during interim pickup. Enjoy a refreshing snow cone while waiting for teacher conferences or after shopping at the book fair.
The fall spirit wear sale is open now through the 13th of October. Shop for your glittery Miller South gear as well as the winning
student-designed shirt using the link provided.
PTA's fall membership drive ends on the 11th of October. Help your student's class win a popsicle party by joining PTA with the link provided.
