Principal's Message for the Week of October 21st
Our 8th graders will be attending the 8th Grade Showcase at Quaker Station on Wednesday, October 23. The bus leaves at 8:00 so all 8th grade students need to be here before that time.
The Miller South Bands would like to invite you to our Fall Side by Side Band Concert with the Akron Symphonic Winds on Monday, October 21st at 6:30 pm. This is a free concert and is a great opportunity to hear our Concert Band students perform amongst professional musicians in the greater Akron area. Thank You for your support!
Our October Event is right around the corner. This year our October Event will take place on Friday, November 1. Students are permitted to wear their Halloween costumes to school. Costumes must be school-appropriate. No weapons or gore is allowed. Students may only wear a mask on stage during the parade. They are not permitted to do so the rest of the day. Inflatable costumes may only be worn on stage during the parade. They may not be worn throughout the building. School-appropriate shoes must be worn all day. There will be a dance for 6th-8th graders and a trunk or treat for grades 4-5 in the afternoon. More details to come.
We have more and more items showing up in our lost and found. Please make sure that you are labeling your student’s personal belongings (coats, hats, water bottles, footballs, etc.) so that if something is lost, it can be returned to them if found. Students are responsible for all of the items they choose to bring to school.
Starting Thursday, October 24th until Wednesday, October 30th, the National Junior Honor Society will be selling boo-grams before morning meeting. Send a note and a treat to a friend for only $1. Please know your friend's grade level and first and last name. Don't ghost your friends. Just boo it.
The Community open house will be held this Thursday, October 24 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at the Kenmore Community Center, 880 Kenmore Blvd. We invite all of our families out to see the progress of our new building.
Stark State will be holding a STEM night on Thursday, October 24. There will be fun demos, hands-on activities, food, and prizes.
