Principal's Message for the Week of November 3rd

Miller South’s Community Open House will be on November 7 from 5-7 PM. Please encourage all of your friends and family to come out and see what being a STAR is all about. This event is for families interested in learning more about Miller South and auditioning to be a part of our family. There will be an opportunity for prospective families to complete the open enrollment application necessary to apply to Miller South.

Our goal is to maintain a safe learning environment for our students and staff each day. All visitors must enter through the metal detectors and sign in upon entering the building. If you are doing more than dropping something off then you must report to the main office so we are aware that the visitor is moving through the building. We will also be installing a Raptor system in the coming weeks. Once that system is installed, all visitors must scan a government-issued ID in order to access the building. Once installed, we will provide this information to you.

The Miller South Jazz Band and Dance Ensemble proudly present "Moves & Grooves," a collaborative concert on Friday, November 8th, at 7:00 PM at The Well CDC (647 E. Market St., Akron, OH 44304). Tickets are $5 at the door. Enjoy lively tunes, fun dance performances, and artwork by the Visual Art Department on display! Come celebrate the Arts with us!

8th grade Visual Art parents- by now you should have set up your first payment for the Pittsburgh trip in March. Students who have not completed this need to do so as soon as possible. Information has been emailed, sent home, and posted in the 8th Grade Art Google Classroom. A message from the PTA: This is the final call to return completed Thrive and Drive raffle tickets to the PTA box in the office.  For a final opportunity to purchase tickets in-person, see Mrs. Devine at the PTA table during Open House.

A few reminders. There will be no school on Tuesday, November 5. Also, students need to come to school with their Chromebooks charged each day. This is essential to them being able to access their work in school.
