Sunday Star Updates

Principal's Message for the Week of March 30th

OST testing begins on Tuesday. It is important that students get a good night’s sleep and a healthy breakfast on testing days. This week students will take their ELA tests on Tuesday and Wednesday. It is incredibly important that all students are in school on time and with charged Chromebooks. OST tests are timed tests, and we will begin promptly at 8:10 each day. Please make sure your child is here in plenty of time for breakfast if they eat at school. If they need breakfast they should arrive by 7:45 to have time to eat before testing. If you need to sign your child out for an appointment on a testing day before 11:00, please let us know in advance. Once students begin their tests, they cannot stop or pause them. If they need to be signed out they will need to wait to test. If you have any questions about testing please let us know.

We are beginning the scheduling process for the 2025-2026 school year. All 4th-grade students will add an arts interest area to their schedule next year. Students in grades 5-7 have the opportunity to add, change, or drop an interest area. All of the information was sent to families via email on Friday, March 21. It is also in the all-call email. Please reach out to the appropriate art teachers if you have any questions.

Internal Auditions
Now is the time we begin scheduling for the 2025-2026 academic year. Students planning to continue with their current arts interest areas do not need to participate in the internal audition process. All current 4th graders and any 5th-7th graders wishing to make a change- please review the information below.

Please review the Internal Audition Requirements for detailed information for each Arts Area. If you have any questions regarding audition preparation, contact the appropriate arts teacher.

Current 5th-7th grade students wishing to ADD, CHANGE, or DROP an art interest area for next year must complete the Add or Change Interest Area Form. (Students planning to continue with their current arts interest areas do not need to participate in the internal audition process)
TO ADD: students must first audition and be accepted into the new interest area. In addition, the added interest area must be compatible with your child’s schedule.
TO DROP: students and parents must conference with their current arts teacher.
