Sunday Star Updates

Principal's Message for the Week of March 17th

The 8th Grade Formal will be on Sunday, May 19 from 5:30 - 9:30 pm at St. George Family Center. The invitation will go out this week. The formal is not a school-sponsored event. If you have any questions please contact  Brooks Collins-Gaines at 330-730-8074 or Michele Pantea at mpantea2@apslearns.org.

Students in grades 5-7 have the opportunity to add or drop an interest area for the 24/25 school year. The ADD/Drop form was emailed to parents last week and is due by Thursday, March 27th. If you have any questions reach out to myself or their arts teacher.

4th grade students have the opportunity to add an interest area for the 24/25 school year. The Add form was sent to 4th grade parents last week as well and is due by Thursday, March 27th.

3rd quarter report cards were placed in the mail on Friday so you should be receiving those soon. We will have ice cream cones on Thursday during lunch for all students who earned honor or merit roll and for those who increased their GPA by at least 0.2 points.

PTA's Spring spirit wear sale is open now through the 31st of March, at the link in the all call email.

The Book Fair will continue to stay open online until March 28th, here is the Book Fair homepage link that will help people continue to purchase books.

With the support of our PTA volunteers, student families, and staff members we were able to purchase over $870 worth of books for the teachers and students of Miller South. Our goal has always been to get the most amount of books into the hands of our students and we will continue to work towards improving that goal every year. Thank you! -Beth Adams Book Fair PTA Chair

We will be having a dance on Thursday leading into spring break. The dance is a Luau theme. Students may dress in the luau theme on Thursday but bathing suits and flip flops are not permitted. The cost of the dance is $2 and PTA will be selling snacks at the dance for $1. 5th graders that meet the expectations set forth by their teachers will also be permitted to attend this dance!

Spring break begins this Friday, March 28 and ends on Monday, April 8. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 9.

The district has purchased eclipse glasses for all students. Those will be going home with the students this week so that they can enjoy the eclipse. Please make sure that you follow all safety guidelines when observing the eclipse to ensure the safety of your family.

Congratulations to Mr. Oravec and our Esports team who were State Champions in Mario Kart this weekend!

Please see the calendar of events in the all call email for activities taking place this week. I hope you had a great weekend and we’ll see everyone back tomorrow. Have a great evening.
