Principal's Message for the Week of March 17th

We will have our first Arts Integration Night this Thursday, March 21 at 4:30. Come out and experience the many ways we incorporate arts into our classrooms. You will be amazed at the creativity of our students and teachers as they marry arts with academics. We will have raffles and refreshments available. RSVP HERE so that we can ensure we have enough refreshments.

The Dance Ensemble will have its annual concert on Friday, March 22nd at 6:00 PM at the Miller South Auditorium. This performance is FREE and open to the public. Donations will be accepted and presented to a local charity, Haven of Rest, selected by the dancers. Please join us in the celebration of dance and giving back to the community.

Spring book fair is this week! The fair will be open during lunch and after school. To set up an eWallet for your student, please visit.

PTA's Spring spirit wear sale is open through the end of March, featuring new designs, personalization, glitter, and decals are here.

The March PTA meeting will be on Monday at 6 pm in the dining room and online at this link.

Any 6th, 7th, or 8th-grade student who wants to apply to the National Junior Honor Society can get applications outside Mrs. Dourm's room on Friday, March 22nd.  Students are required to complete an application, have a 3.5 GPA, and gather teacher recommendations. Applications are due April 23rd.  No late applications will be accepted.

Spring break will begin on Friday, March 29, and ends on Monday, April 8. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 9. 

The district will be providing solar eclipse glasses to all students to view the eclipse on April 8. They are NASA-approved glasses and should be going home with the students before spring break.

The Visual Art Department invites you to two of our favorite events: The Spring Art Show for students and families will be on May 4th from 1-4 PM at Akrona Galleries. This free, open house-style event showcases multiple pieces of art from each student in our program. Please continue to check our Art Booster Facebook Page for more information as the date approaches. 

The Miller South Masquerade: Night at the Gallery annual fundraiser and auction will be held the night before. This adult-only event is a way for parents and community members to view the big art show the night before. Tickets are $25 until April 15th, then $30 afterward. The first 25 people to buy tickets will receive an upcycled photo frame at the event, created by students. Auction items are being added daily and you can purchase tickets here.
