Principal's Message for the Week of January 7th

I hope you all had a wonderful break and are ready to begin the second half of the school year tomorrow. Tomorrow begins our second semester/3rd grading period. Students in grades 6-8 will receive their new schedules in homerooms tomorrow morning as their specials have changed. Students can also see their schedules in their home access center.

Teachers are finalizing and entering final grades from the 2nd quarter this week. Report cards will be mailed the week of 1/15/24 and should be accessible in home access next weekend.

Students are reminded to bring their instruments and music back to school tomorrow.

The counselor from Firestone CLC will be scheduling with students attending Firestone on Tuesday. If your child will be attending Firestone next year they will meet with the freshman counselor.

A message from the PTA. This is a reminder to turn in Acme Community Cashback receipts. We are still collecting any receipts for purchases made in 2023. Envelopes are still up by homerooms, and receipts that have a name on them will be entered for a drawing to be held in February.

Reflections submissions are due Monday online or in the office. The rules and required entry form may be found here.  Please complete this form to turn in your digital submissions. Student Entry forms and physical projects (only for photography and visual arts) should be turned in to the box in the office.  Any project not submitted by the deadline, or submitted without a signed entry form will not be able to be entered into the program. The PTA will recognize every student who enters.

The Cleveland Browns have made the playoffs!!! As part of the district Stay in the Game initiative, the district is sponsoring Brown and orange spirit week. Click the link to see the list of activities taking place this week. Tomorrow’s focus is atten-DANCE and we are looking for students to showcase their best Touchdown dance!! We will be recording touchdown dances during recess for any student who wants to participate.

There will be a district-wide rapid-release fire drill tomorrow at dismissal. Students will exit their normal doors at 3:15. There is no school on Friday, January 12, and Monday, January 15. Students return to school on Tuesday, January 16.
