Principal's Message for the Week of January 22nd

Winter Orchestra Concert featuring all the orchestras and the Miller South Steelband will be on Thursday, Jan. 25 at 7:00 pm.  Free and open to all.  

For 5th grade families only. Mrs. Hazlett will begin an after-school book club beginning Wednesday, January 24 from 3:15 - 4:15. They will be reading the book “Refugee” by Alan Gratz. Any 5th-grade student is welcome to attend. Please bring a snack if you would like. 

Please join the PTA for its January meeting at 6pm on Monday, January 22. This meeting will be online only, at this link. We will be discussing a lot of fun events and activities for second semester, and hope to see everyone there.

Grades 6-8 students will have a Valentine’s Dance on Thursday, February 15. To be eligible to attend the dance, students must not have any Fs on their interim report. I encourage you to check in on your child’s grades consistently to help keep them on track. If you have any questions about grades, please reach out to your child’s teacher.

A friendly reminder that students are dismissed from school at 3:15 pm.  Pick-up should occur by 3:30 pm.  When there are extenuating circumstances and pick-up does not occur by 3:30 students will report to the dining room and wait for a parent to arrive. The office closes at 4:30 so all students must be picked up by that time. Remember the library on V.Odom is always available to students if parents cannot pick up on time.
