Principal's Message for the Week of February 19th

Our Superintendent, Dr. Robinson has a monthly book club that we encourage all of our students to participate in. Students can read a book from the list and then fill out the Google form indicating that they have read the book. The list of books and Google form are located in their language arts Google classroom. Any student who completes a book and fills out the form will be added to a weekly drawing to win a gift card. Congratulations to Violet in 5th grade who was our winner last week!

Students need to have their school-issued Chromebooks at school daily. They should not be using personal devices. If their school device needs repair or replacement, they must turn in their damaged device to receive a new one.

A message from the PTA. Acme receipts were extended until Feb 15. Please turn in any Acme receipts to the envelope outside of the homeroom doors or the PTA mailbox. There will be another raffle so please put your child’s name on the back of the receipt.

Students are not permitted to have medication of any kind with them throughout the school day. If your child requires taking medication during the school day, there needs to be a form filled out with the nurse, and that medication is to be housed in the clinic. 

Drop-off in the morning occurs at doors 7 and 12. Students should only be dropped off at door 1 at 8:05. Also, the building closes at 4:30 each day. All students need to be picked up by that time. The library on V. Odom is available if you need to pick up after 4:30. If your child is in a rehearsal, please pick up at the time the rehearsal concludes.

Just a reminder that there is no school tomorrow, Monday, February 19 as we celebrate President’s Day. Students return to school on Tuesday.

Please take the time to review your child’s grade in home access center to ensure that they are completing the necessary assignments to be successful in their coursework.
