Principal's Message for the Week of December 8th

We have found several students sneaking cell phones into the building via water bottles, hidden in between notebooks, etc. The district phone and Yondr bag policy has been in place since last school year and our expectations have been shared with students and families. Students are not permitted to have electronic devices at any point during the school day. Their phones should be secured in their Yondr bag. If they forget their Yondr bag, then it is to be placed in the bin upon entering the building and kept in the main office to be picked up at dismissal. At this point in the year, any student found in possession of a phone or other electronic device will receive a day of suspension. Students who are caught multiple times will receive multiple days of suspension.

The annual Ugly Sweater Contest and Student Council Spirit Week are fast approaching. Spirit Week will be the last week before winter break (December 16 - December 20). The ugly sweater contest will be on December 20. Please see the attached links for information.

The Miller South Band program has new Band Spiritwear available for purchase which includes T-Shirts, Crewnecks, and Hoodies. Please see the link and flyer to order directly through the website. Ordering is open now until Thursday, December 12th. All items will be delivered to the school and distributed to students and families on December 19 and 20 before Winter Break. We also have a limited supply of shirts from 2021 that can be purchased through Mrs. Hughes. Please see the flyer for more details.

Students will be taking their i-Ready diagnostics in reading and math on Tuesday and Wednesday. Students need to be in school on time and with a charged Chromebook each day. Students who meet their mid-year typical and stretch goal will receive a reward!!

We have many many items in our lost and found. If your child is missing any items, have them check the lost and found in the dining room. All items left will be donated over winter break.

Congratulations to all of our 4th grade students who participated in the production of Jospeh and the Amazing Technicolored Dreamcoat. You guys were awesome and represented Miller South very well!!
