Sunday Star Updates

Principal's Message for the Week of August 31st

We are starting to get in routine with arrival and dismissal. Thank you for being patient while everyone got into the groove of returning to school. Our enrollment is up this year so there is more traffic at arrival and dismissal. Here are a few reminders so that we can keep things running smoothly and our students safe. During drop off at door 12, there is a line of cars that drop off. This should be drop and go for the cars in line. If your child/carpool needs to get things out of the trunk, please park in one of the parking spaces so that it does not hold up the drop and go line. Please do not pull in between cars in the line as students are crossing and that causes an unsafe condition. At pick up at door 1, cars should not park in the fire lane in the main parking lot. This is causing a backup on East Ave. as cars cannot maneuver around those in the fire lane. There is a lot at door 3 by the field, where you may park and meet your child at door 1. Thank you for making these adjustments so that we can keep things running smoothly and our kids safe.

Just a reminder that we offer free breakfast to all of our students. Students should eat a good breakfast to help them perform well in school. If your child does not eat breakfast at home, please encourage them to eat when they arrive at school so they have energy to get through their morning.

If you need to reach Ms. Castle, please use the School Counselor Request Form. This is for non-emergency situations when a student needs to meet with the school counselor or school counseling intern. This form can be submitted by staff, students, or guardians.

A message from the PTA: Envelopes are up for Acme receipts.  Please send in your receipts, with your student's name on the back.  Students may place receipts in any Acme envelope in the building.

PTA's only spirit wear sale this year is open now.  Please visit link to order before the sale closes on the 8th of September.

Fall play auditions will take place on September 10th and 11th. For information about the production and audition requirements, please see the Theater Department site.

Please remember to label your students' items. We have had lots of water bottles and lunch boxes come up missing. If they are labeled, we can get them back to their rightful owner.

Community Days at the Akron Zoo will take place for Summit County residents September 1 - 30. Residents can visit the zoo for free while supplies last. Tickets must be reserved in advance. Click HERE to reserve tickets.

Important Upcoming Dates:
