Principal's Message for the Week of April 28th
We are in the last week of OST testing!!! This week 5th grade students will take the science test and 8th graders will take their math tests. The students have done a wonderful job of being present during testing and have earned rewards for following our testing expectations. Thank you for all of your support during the beginning of our testing cycle as I know that it is not a fun time for the students.
The Spring Orchestra concert will be on Thursday, May 2 starting at 7:00 pm in the auditorium. Free and open to all. There will also be a mandatory after-school rehearsal on Thursday as well as a school-wide performance on Friday morning. Details were emailed home and are posted in the student's Google classroom.
The Visual Art Department invites you to two of our favorite events: The Spring Art Show for students and families on May 4th from 1-4 PM at Akrona Galleries. This free, open house-style event showcases multiple pieces of art from each student in our program. Please continue to check our Art Booster Facebook Page for more information as the date approaches.
The Miller South Masquerade: Night at the Gallery annual fundraiser and auction will be held on Friday, May 3. This adult-only event is a way for parents and community members to view the big art show the night before. The first 25 people to buy tickets will receive an upcycled photo frame at the event, created by students. Auction items are being added daily and you can purchase tickets here.
A message from the PTA. Field day will be Wednesday, May 29. We have many fun activities planned but need many volunteers to help make this event happen. For more information and to sign up go here.
Please note the May PTA meeting has been moved to Monday, May 13th, at 6pm, and will be online only.
Last day of school Tshirt orders are due tomorrow. If you would like to order a shirt for your child print the order form in the email and send it in tomorrow!
6th and 7th graders interested in applying to be a Miller South ambassador must complete the application by Friday, May 3. They should have an email from Ms. Castle with the application.
We will be having a talent show for students on Tuesday, May 28. We are excited for the students to showcase their talents to the students and staff. Students interested in auditioning will have to have a parent sign the information sheet so please look for that if our child is planning to audition.
Please see the calendar of events in the all-call email for events taking place this week. As we near the end of the school year, please continue to monitor your child’s home access center and ensure that they are in school every day on time.
