ESports Team Brings Home State Title

The Miller South ESports Mario Kart team competed at the state level on Saturday, March 23rd. The competition was hosted at East Canton High School and by Ohio Middle School ESports. The team did a wonderful job overcoming trials and adversity while taking on the league leader Phoenix Middle School from Columbus Ohio. The team shot off to an early lead, in the finals. The series was a best of 3 games, each game was a 4-race series. The team took the first two races of the first game, lost the second, and headed into the last race leading by 1 point. A first place finish by Everette Parana helped seal a win for the first game of the series. The second series kicked off with a 1st and 2nd place finish by Levi Para and Maddy Waliga, launching off to an early lead. The team dropped the third race but still gathered some needed points with a 2nd place finish by Matthew Kalail. Heading into the fourth and final race of the 2nd game, the team was ahead by 12 points and needed a 1st place finish to seal the state title. With a 1st place finish by Levi Parana, the teams season-leading racer, we sealed the victory and won the series 2-0 to bring home the state final.

The team finished the regular season 4-3 and 1-1 in the regionals. Streams from the finals can be found here; Series 1, Series 2
