Hello all!
This year has been one heck of a ride!
We did not originally begin with this musical. We started this year, thinking we would be doing Meet Me in St. Louis! After we discussed the needs of the show and the restrictions set on us due to COVID, we decided to do a show that was smaller and simpler than a classic.
Paul has every year suggested we do You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and every year Alex laughs and nods and says, “Maybe.” This year, he brought it up again and Alex said, “Yes.” And that was the beginning of this process.
This year has been filled with a lot of firsts. The performers auditioned virtually for the first time and we were blown away by the talent and commitment. We began rehearsals virtually and that was a wild adventure, if ever there was one. The performers, however, rose to the occasion and adapted to the virtual rehearsals without complaint. We weren’t sure if we would be performing live until mid February and when we announced when rehearsals in session would be (the week before the show), they showed up those rehearsals in full masks and social distancing style and were ready for the transition. We decided to live stream the event without an audience and the cast and crew took that in stride.
We are so amazed with this cast and crew’s ability to adapt and restructure things at a moment’s notice. It has truly been a wonderful and exciting experience. We have been so proud of the work they have done. True professionals.
We hope you enjoy the show!
