About the Vocal Program
The Miller South Symphonic Choir performs on the Miller South stage.
The Miller South Vocal Program is made up of about 150 students grades 4-8 from the Akron Public Schools and surrounding communities.  Those students are divided into 5 choirs; the Rising Stars (4th and 5th Grade), the Concert Choir (6th Grade), the Symphonic Choir (7th and 8th Grade), the Show Choir (4th through 8th grade select students), and the Chamber Choir (7th and 8th grade select students).  In addition, many students perform in small ensembles and as soloists throughout the year for a wide variety of occasions.  The choirs and ensembles have performed all over Northeast Ohio and abroad, including several European concert tours, the Ohio School Boards Association state conference, the Ohio Music Education Association state conferences, as frequent guests of both the Akron Symphony Orchestra and Singers Companye, several amusement parks, and for the celebrations held at Lock 3 for our hometown hero, Lebron James.  In addition, every other spring the choirs perform in the "Spring Fling", a truly unique and amazing collaborative concert with the Miller South Dance Department.
