Ashley Watts (Miller South Dance Teacher) is a native of the Pittsburgh area. She was a member of the Mon Valley Ballet Company prior to relocating to Ohio. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Education from Kent State University. As a performer, she was a featured dancer at the International Dance Festival in 2009. As an advocated for dance education, she has presented at the National Dance Education Organization Conference and currently sponsors a Junior Chapter. She has choreographed for the Northeast Ohio Dance Company. Her choreography was most recently performed at the American Dance Festival in Cleveland. She was the director of the Stark County YMCA dance program for 8 years. This is her fourth year teaching dance at Miller South by National Arts Strategies for using arts and culture as a vehicle to drive physical and social transformation.
