Mrs. Malia Tschantz

Malia Tschantz has taught visual art in Akron Public Schools since 2007. She as been at Miller South School for the Visual and Performing Arts since 2009. Her favorite part of Miller South is the love and joy the students bring to all of the arts as well as the support staff receives from parents and the community. Malia is a co-creator of the 7th/8th grade Visual Art curriculum that established an 8 semester courses to provide students the opportunity to explore multiple art disciplines within the visual art spectrum. Her students have participated in the Scholastic Art Competition with students receiving high honors, including Scholastic National Silver Keys, National recognition in the NJAHS Juried Online Exhbition, and the Akron Summit Holocaust Art Competition. Malia also coached girls cross country for 14 years and track and field for four years at Firestone CLC. In 2007 she led the girls to the first City Series Track & Field championship for Firestone CLC.
